My prescription is a little old but I just wanted to get another box of lenses before I go to the eye doctor again in a couple of months. I was just wondering if they will actually call my doctor at all since from looking at the site I see they ask for your doctor’s info.
Thank you.
Legally they are supposed to. Most of my experience is that when one of my patients orders from them they do call me and I double check on expiration dates, proper power, and proper sizes. If any of it is wrong I fax to them the issue. If it is expired my patients do not get their contacts and call and yell at me, so I know that they do check. They got sued and heavily fined for NOT following the LAWS concerning contact lense prescriptions, so I think that they do try, to the best of their ability, to follow the rules. Sometimes, I am sure, that a few slip by the system. So good luck, they might ILLEGALLY refill your RX for you on accident. Why not call your Doctor and tell them what you want to do, and they might float you a couple of trial lenses until your appointment date, or they might be able to get you in sooner!?! Think of all that money you spend on internet and cell service and cable a year and compare it to the skimpy amount you spend on your eyes! THESE ARE YOUR EYES! Don’t be a cheapie!

Yes, they are required by law to call your eye doctor and verify your prescription and to also verify that it has not expired. Some eye doctors will sell you a "spare pair" to get you by if you make an appointment. Depends on their policy, never hurts to ask.

Optician, mom, and contact lense wearer!
If you have a prescription on file with them already they usually won’t check; if you are a new customer… it’s time to go to the eye doctor (yeah I know it sucks!).

No I think they just need the prescription. They probably just need the doctor’s information for their records.
